Tips on How to Clean an Iron
Do you iron often? Your appearance depends on how often you iron your clothes. If you rely on your iron to contribute to your flawless looks, you should take good care of your iron. Here are the tips on how to clean an iron and make it shine as new.
First of all, how often do you use it? We bet, not as often as you are doing tenancy cleaning, for example. Once in a while, any household appliance needs your care, so do not neglect your iron, keep it clean will help you keep your outlook spotless.
For cleaning your iron you need the following tool: cotton buds, vinegar, lukewarm water, soft cloth, and aluminium folio and salt for removing stuck on plastic.
Tip 1: Water container – this is an essential part that you should clean if you want your clothes to be perfectly ironed without any strange traces and spots. Dirty irons either leak and the water inside may not be as clean as you think. The reservoir should be empty and then you should add the vinegar in a proportion 1/1 with water. Plug the iron and heat it, then get it steaming until it runs out of water. Then refill with pure water and steam the water out again.
Tip 2: Any sticky substances are removed by heating the iron to its highest and running it over paper towels until it comes off. Do not touch the iron and make sure the layer of paper towels is thick enough, so no burning or overheating of the underlying surface will occur.
Tip 3: As in tenancy cleaning, it is highly recommended to turn all appliances off and make sure they are cold and secure if you are going to clean them. Irons may be cleaned using only a mild detergent and soft cloth when wiping. Make sure the iron is not hot, before touching it.
