How to Neutralize Odours When Moving Out
Is it time for your move out? After cleaning is done, there probably may be something more that you would like to do. Did you neutralize bad odours? Here is how.
First of all, when doing the tenancy cleaning, you may have noticed some strange smell coming from right behind the fridge. Kitchen and bathroom are the rooms where humidity level is quite high and require more maintenance than simply cleaning. If it smells bad then probably it is mould and mildew, that you should first try to remove, but, hopefully with some professional help. The misty smell is something that shouldn’t be ignored, as the mould grows, your health is in danger. Kill the fungi first. As for the smell, attack it with dehumidifier first, then add some purifying activated charcoal and the air should be light and pure again. Once it is done, spray with vinegar and tea tree oil and the fungi should disappear living the rooms refreshed.
Check the doorway, the place where you store your shoes. Did you wash your trainers after the last work out? Try to deodorise them now, as your landlord may come soon to check on the property and to supervise the tenancy cleaning. Pour baking soda on the shoe soles and freeze the pair over night. Leave them outside to air and eventually warm a bit before putting them on again.
Some landlords allow keeping pets indoors, but other don’t. Even if you had their permission, you should neutralize dog odour. Get rid of its old blankets and toys tossed around. Pour baking soda on the upholstery and vacuum well afterwards. Spray with a mix of essential oils and vinegar and the indoor air will be pure and clean.
